Good news! I just found out I was accepted to Taos Toolbox, a "master-level" writing workshop that focuses on writing and publishing novels. I'm really surprised, since this particular workshop is geared towards veterans. One of the two instructors is none other than Kelly Link, the writer who reviewed my story for the Online Writing Workshop!
But aye, here's the rub...the price tag is very hefty, and the whole sum is due in three weeks. However, I'm not going to hear from the other three workshops - for all of which scholarships are available - for at least another month. So I'm thinking about 1) how many MRI studies I can do for the university or 2) what to pawn ;)
At the very least, what a huge vote of confidence. Yay!
It's January 19th! On this day twelve years ago, our dog Abby died. Here is a picture of our little marmoset:
Also, today, we should honor both our old-tyme doggies. Corky was a little older than Abby, and died before her, though I don't remember quite when; sometime in the haze of my middle school years when time was not yet running linearly. Corky was a German shepherd mix, and as such, had big lovely brown bandit eyes. She loved curling up on her mat under the table in the corner of the kitchen, while Mom did the dishes. Here is the only picture I have of her...

Hey everyone! I have a huge backlog of things to post on Diaspora, and they might not get posted until this is over - the production of Sweeney Todd I'm in this month! The Daily Tarheel wrote about us in today's issue, which you can read here. The director Lori is amazing; she's a friend of mine, and she's managing this massive project with a firm hand. Last night we got through nearly the entire show with the orchestra - and it was only the fifth day of rehearsals overall! I was amazed. This is going to be a GOOD show. Stay tuned...
