Break a leg, Moniqua! It is opening night for Redghost, a Little Green Pig production at the Common Ground Theatre in Durham, NC. The play is an adaptation of a terrifying Japanese ghost story whose performance is risky and risqué, so I am invoking serenity as well as success upon all actors and audiences. You can see some candids from rehearsals here--and read reviews (!) here and here. Meanwhile, Monica offers up two other art vistas: one, her podcast with local interviewer Scott Jennings; two, some Beatles, "my models of creative process," she writes, whose story is yet one of loss: "They were releasing albums for only eight years and they changed the world and then they went their separate ways and never came back together again." What do you do at that juncture? When, as Jack Kerouac put it in On The Road, you come to feel like "just somebody else, some stranger, and my whole life was a haunted life..." Monica is giving one answer: play a ghost.--JEB
