Cousin Jeanne Manzer is, with her husband Bill, a regular reader of this blog. Jeanne is amazing and super-cool for many reasons, one of which is that she and Bill celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary recently: congratulations to you both! Another of which is that she and Don Byrne, Jr., first cousins, were born on the same day in the same year and have always exchanged birthday shout-outs. The Manzers live in Wyoming, but recently decided to downsize and move further west. They bought a condo in Sequim, Washington, and will live near their son, Michael, his wife, Edina, and an adorable baby boy named Dominik. That's whom you see above, getting a kick out of some duckies. Jeanne writes:
The reason they spell Dominik without a "c" is that Dominik is a name used in both the USA and Hungary, but in Hungary it is spelled without the "c". Edina is Hungarian (now also an American citizen) and Dominik has dual American and Hungarian citizenship. They are raising him to be bilingual...they speak only Hungarian at home, but he is in a day care school so he speaks English every school day. They want him to be able to speak to both sets of grandparents and relatives. He is not quite two years old but beginning to speak both languages fairly well...
So I'll continue the tradition of shout-outs: hello Michael, Edina, and Dominik!...hello to Washington State and hello to Hungary...and blessings upon Jeanne and Bill for this big and felicitous transition.--JEB
Cousin Jeanne: the above reminds me I owe you a birthday letter! Great pic of Michael, Edina, and Dominik! I hope the move to the wet Pacific NW from the WY desert has been good...more later. Cousin Donald.
